1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing and using ScanThat ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service. ScanThat is operated by Vellarin.ai ("we", "our", "us").
2. Description of the service
ScanThat is a web application that allows you to scan food products using photos to obtain personalized nutritional analysis. The service uses artificial intelligence, public databases (Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central), and proprietary algorithms to generate the analyses.
3. User accounts
To use the Service you need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You must not share your credentials with third parties. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
4. Plans and payments
ScanThat offers a free plan with limited usage and a Pro plan with expanded features. Pro plan payments are processed through Lemon Squeezy as our payment processor. By subscribing to the Pro plan, you authorize recurring monthly charges until you cancel your subscription. Prices may change with 30 days' prior notice.
5. Medical liability disclaimer
IMPORTANT: ScanThat is not a medical or professional nutritional service. The information provided is for informational and educational purposes only. Nutritional analyses may contain estimates or approximate data. You should not make medical, dietary, or health decisions based solely on information from ScanThat. Always consult a qualified health professional for decisions related to allergies, medical conditions, or special diets.
6. Data accuracy
ScanThat uses multiple data sources including Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central, and artificial intelligence. Although we strive to provide accurate information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the nutritional data. Data marked as "estimated" are approximations generated by AI and may differ from the actual values of the product.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service in a lawful and ethical manner. The following are prohibited: (a) attempting to access other users' accounts; (b) using the service for commercial purposes without authorization; (c) reverse engineering or attempting to extract the source code; (d) intentionally overloading the servers or infrastructure; (e) using bots or automated tools to access the service without authorization.
8. Intellectual property
All content, design, code, and features of ScanThat are the property of Vellarin.ai. Third-party nutritional data is subject to their respective licenses (Open Food Facts under ODbL, USDA under public domain). Use of the Service does not grant you intellectual property rights over it.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vellarin.ai shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the user in the preceding 12 months.
10. Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified by email or through a notice in the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without prior notice. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
